Bagnasco & Casati D-18 std: moon spruce, forward X and steel T

This workshop is more like D-18 central as of lately. This last one out is our lovely standard D-18 model, with moon logged Euro red spruce top and braces, Honduran mahogany back, sides and neck, ebony bridge and fingerboard, forward X bracing and steel T bar.
Do we like more moon Euro red or Adirondack?... (LoL.. we don't really want to get into that!).

PLEASE SUBSCRIBE What we have today for your attention is a OM-18 with Honduran mahogany back, sides and neck, European red spruce top moon logged and air dried, ebony fingerboard and bridge. 1933 style (including the top shade and ebony nut). Tonally, to me, they're very similar. My impression was that the vintage has more relaxed sound which gives it more warmth while the replica sounds somewhat stiffer but in turn that gives it more attack.

wonderful- Very close and a bit different. I could do without the relicing but that’s just my preference. I own and play a 58-D28 that’s earned it’s relicing the old fashioned way. 🙃 Excellent presentation and demo. 🎧 Love it. 🇮🇹 👏🏼
the relicing was more about testing stuff than actually meaning to offer a reliced version. In fact, for our own taste all we offer is finish checking and very light playwear. Or nothing. Thanks for the kind words

There is s definite difference in tone, sound output with the two. Did they have the same strings, gauge, age? The Martin has a deeper, less bright dryer tone while the B &C has a brighter, thinner, more contemporary sounding D18 tone.
87 years is the difference, the Martin being 87 years older than the B&C

80/20 lights on this one. real tortoise fpick 1,5mm thick. we havent weighted it but it's very light. bone non compensated saddle

Great playing expertise and flat picking.. What flat pick and thickness used? Were the dreadnoughts strung with mediums 13-56? p.b.? Brand?
The deeper body seems to add a mid range not normal to an Om . If you can find a Loo Gibson made of Brazilian it has that extra magical midrange
I've never played or seen or heard of a L00 with rosewood back and sides, but I guess it would sound pretty great

it can handle pretty much anything. I like it best strung with a light set of anything but ph bronze
Are you using Martin Retros or nickel bronze here?
